Ecological
Restoration
OUR NATURE IS TO RESTORE AND PRESERVE
We are passionate about restoring and preserving natural ecosystems through our wide range of wetland restoration services. Our team of dedicated professionals works closely with communities, developers, non-profit organizations, and environmental agencies to ensure that wetland and habitat ecosystems are maintained and protected.
We manage projects ranging from a quarter-acre to 100 acres. Whether it's a small community area or a large-scale environmental restoration, we have the expertise and scalability to meet your specific needs.
CORE SERVICES
Water flow is the lifeblood of any wetland. We restore natural water flows and levels to maintain healthy ecosystems. This involves improving or re-establishing hydrologic patterns that are essential for wetland vegetation and wildlife to thrive.
We provide wetland mitigation services, restoring or creating wetlands to offset those affected by development or other activities. Our mitigation efforts ensure that wetlands continue to perform their essential functions in the ecosystem.
Water quality management
Maintaining water quality is one of our top priorities. We manage and control pollutants and runoff entering wetlands, ensuring that water remains clean and healthy for plants, wildlife, and downstream ecosystems.
Buffer zones
Buffers are crucial in protecting wetlands from external pollutants and runoff. We create buffer zones with native plants to act as natural filters, protecting wetlands from the negative effects of development and agricultural runoff. Buffer zones and upland restoration are also beneficial and a part of restoring an ecosystem. This includes invasive and noxious weed control and native planting.
Sediment control
Sedimentation can threaten water quality and site health. We implement sediment control measures, such as silt fences and sediment traps, to prevent excess sediment from entering the wetlands, thus maintaining a clean and functional habitat.
We specialize in restoring natural flow patterns, stabilizing banks, and enhancing habitat along rivers and streams. Our approach includes removing obstructions, reinforcing banks with native vegetation, and creating in-stream structures that improve water quality, reduce erosion, and enhance habitats for fish and other aquatic species. These efforts are aimed at restoring the ecological balance and natural function of riverine environments, promoting healthy waterways and connected ecosystems.
Unstable streambanks can lead to erosion and habitat degradation. We stabilize streams and riverbanks using techniques such as planting deep-rooted vegetation and installing fascines or other erosion control materials. This helps prevent further erosion and protects the wetland from damage.
Native species
We specialize in planting native wetland and upland plants to help restore the natural balance of ecosystems. These plants not only enhance the beauty of our natural spaces but also provide essential habitat for local wildlife, improving biodiversity and ecological resilience.
Invasive species
Invasive species can wreak havoc on natural ecosystems. We remove non-native and invasive plants that cause harm to environments, ensuring that native plants can thrive and ecosystems can return to their natural state. Invasive and noxious species are treated appropriately using state-of-the-art tools including EZ-Ject Lace, Knotweed Injection tools, Wedgle Injection Systems, and more.
Invasive species include insects that can damage plant life. We treat for the control of pests like the Emerald Ash Borer in Oregon Ash and other native trees using Wedgle Injection System, a fast, effective, tree-friendly way to treat trees for a broad range of destructive pests, harmful diseases, and nutrient deficiencies.
For long-term restoration and maintenance, we also design and install customized irrigation systems that are efficient, reliable, and environmentally friendly. From drip systems to sprinkler setups, our experts tailor each installation to the specific requirements of your habitat, ensuring proper water distribution that supports plant health and ecosystem resilience.
We plant and establish native Oregon white oak prairies to restore oak ecosystems and support local wildlife. Oregon white oak is a keystone species in the Pacific Northwest, providing habitat for over 200 species.
We encourage the health of native wildlife by installing bird boxes, leaving standing dead trees (snags), and creating habitat piles. These features offer safe nesting and shelter for birds and other wildlife, enriching the ecosystem.
Navigating environmental regulations can be complex. We handle all aspects of natural resource permitting and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations. This guarantees that all restoration activities meet legal requirements and contribute to long-term sustainability.
